Comission an Original Painting

A meaningful moment. A beloved face. A painting made last for generations.

I accept a limited number of commissioned oil painting throughout the year, creating original works of art from your photographs. Whether it's a beloved pet, a child or family member, a special home or another subject close to your heart, my goal is to create a painting that feels both beautifully rendered and deeply personal.

• THE COMMISSION PROCESS

How the Commission Process Works

Commissioning an original oil portrait is a thoughtful, collaborative journey designed to capture character and create an heirloom for generations.

Start with a Conversation

Selecting your Photographs

Choosing Size & Composition

We begin with an open dialogue about your subject, desired mood, and personal story to establish the emotional core and artistic tone of the painting.

We review high-quality reference photography or arrange a dedicated sitting, studying light, facial posture, and subtle expressions that bring the canvas alive.

Together we finalize the canvas dimensions, palette harmony, and framing style tailored specifically for the room where your painting will reside.

Your Painting

Each commission is individually painted in oils using traditional techniques. I want the finished piece to be more than a reproduction of a photograph, I want it to feel like a painting.

Details can be simplified, backgrounds changed, distracting elements removed, and the overall composition adjusted to create a beautiful finished work.

Beacause each painting is created individually, availability and completion times vary throughout the year.
